Terms of Service

Thank you for using CriteriaBot. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CriteriaBot service and website (together, the "Service") operated by CriteriaBot ("we", "us", or "our").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. We may update them in the future; continued use after any change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Account Terms

1. 1You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. We cannot be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to do so.
2. 2You must be a human. Accounts registered by bots or other automated methods are not permitted.
3. 3You are responsible for all content submitted to and activity that occurs under your account.
4. 4You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

Payment, Refunds, and Plan Changes

1. 1The Free tier requires no credit card. We do not sell your data regardless of your plan.
2. 2Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly basis. If you do not pay, your account will be frozen until payment is made.
3. 3If you upgrade from a free plan to a paid plan, your card is charged immediately and your billing cycle begins on the day of upgrade.
4. 4All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Where required by law, we will collect and remit taxes on your behalf.

Cancellation and Termination

1. 1You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
2. 2All your content will become inaccessible upon cancellation and will be permanently deleted within 60 days.
3. 3We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. We will generally provide notice before doing so except in cases of serious abuse.

Modifications to the Service and Prices

1. 1We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice.
2. 2If we change pricing for existing customers, we will give at least 30 days notice via the email address on record.

Uptime, Security, and Privacy

1. 1The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not offer a formal SLA.
2. 2We take reasonable measures to protect your data through encryption, backups, and redundancy.
3. 3We process your data only as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

API Terms

1. 1We are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from your use of the API.
2. 2Abuse or excessively frequent requests may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your API access. We will attempt to warn you before taking action.
3. 3You may not use the API to build products that surveil or monitor individuals without their explicit consent.

Copyright and Content Ownership

1. 1All content you submit remains yours. You grant us a limited license to use it solely to provide the Service to you.
2. 2We do not pre-screen content but reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
3. 3You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of CriteriaBot's UI, design, or code without our express written permission.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CriteriaBot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
